At some point in our lives, we all just wish someone could save us from the wretches we’ve become. Don’t we? We all experience disappointment and sadness. Love and loss. And we wonder how or why those things happened to us. I mean, we’re nice people, aren’t we? We’re all just trying to do the next right thing…to be happy, healthy, loving and kind. Then we’re hit with a dump truck full of bricks that completely flatten our bodies, our spirits. Our souls. We feel unloved, unwanted and unappreciated. Or maybe that’s just me. So how do you get over a broken heart, financial difficulties, loss of a loved one, or huge disappointments? Sometimes you don’t. Life eventually gets easier. You think about all of the woulda, coulda, shoulda’s. You learn from mistakes. You grow. You get smarter, stronger, faster and wiser. You get a little angry, sure. But from what I’ve learned, you use those difficult times to buoy your spirit and determine exactly what you want and don’t want in this life. You pick up the pieces of your broken heart, little by little, one by one. . September is national suicide awareness month. And with the quarantine, masks, and riots, it is quite scary, confusing and downright sad. Many feel isolated. Afraid to go out. Further adding to their depression. If someone is displaying signs of sadness and disappointment that they cannot bear, believe them.
