In every cell of my body, I want to empower other women to move beyond whatever obstacles they feel hold them back. To encourage them to remove the shackles and live the life that they’re meant to live. Girlfriend, I want YOU to spread your light, your sunshine and do the thing that makes your heart sing.
On this International Women’s Day, take a moment to think of ALL the things you do for others: your family, friends, co-workers, and your community. You’re the go-to girl who gets sh*t done. Mom, wife, cook, chauffeur, travel agent, entrepreneur, sex goddess (did I say that?!) Every day you try to balance it all. If only for today, put yourself first. Right now, take up more space….chin up, tits up (yes I said that! I was inspired from watching the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, my new favorite show. Have you seen it?). Don’t dull your sparkle. Shine on, girlfriend! Show ‘em what you got! You are enough.
You are empowered!
We lose our power when we allow others to treat us disrespectfully. For most of my life I played the victim role really, really well. I did everything to roll out the red carpet for people in my life to take advantage of me. But after decades of putting the needs of others before my own, I finally said, enough! It’s my turn. I’m not saying to leave your kids at day care and have a rare spa day
(although there’s nothing wrong with that).
I’m saying you are enough. Use those crappy life lessons, you know, the ones that really suck, to fuel your fire. What do you WANT? The pivotal aha moment when it all became crystal clear for me was when I starting putting myself first. I actually said “no”, I didn’t want to go there. No, I didn’t want to do that. No, is a complete sentence, my friend. You’ll feel more empowered when you use it.
